About the role

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to design discussions
- Support hands-on quality assurance efforts and mentor other developers
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with product and business stakeholders
- Integrate AI into delivered solutions and the team's ways of working
- Guide developers in adopting AI-driven approaches
- Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies that benefit the platform
- Apply and promote best practices for performance, scalability, observability, and security
- Collaborate with DevOps and Operations teams to ensure software is production-ready and maintainable
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and retrospectives
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to technical direction and improve engineering practices
- Tecsys provides AI-powered cloud software for supply chains in the healthcare and distribution sectors
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing Java backend systems in production environments, with hands-on experience in systems design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Excellent understanding of object-oriented design, microservices architecture, and RESTful services
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Java 11+, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
- Proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, as well as Oracle and SQL Server
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases is an asset
- Experience with Git, Maven, and modern development environments such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, and Visual Studio Code
- Experience integrating AI tools such as Kiro, Claude, or others into daily development work
- Ability to design and deliver scalable solutions within complex distributed architectures
- Ability to mentor developers, collaborate with the quality assurance team, participate in code reviews, and develop proofs of concept
- Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for communicating with clients, vendors, business partners, and colleagues located outside Quebec
