About the role

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preparing interventions related to building mechanical work
  • Review the technical requirements applicable to mechanical work
  • Support the project team in planning site activities
  • Coordinate the activities of the various stakeholders involved in mechanical work
  • Monitor the progress of mechanical work carried out by contractors
  • Verify on site that the work complies with the contract documents
  • Identify coordination issues that may affect the installation or execution of the work
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings
  • Track technical information and documents submitted by contractors
  • Document observed issues and forward relevant information to the responsible professionals
  • Participate in processing requests for information and technical clarifications
  • Monitor changes and their implementation
  • Track the impacts of changes on site sequencing and progress
  • Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and pre-acceptance verifications
  • Follow up on deficiencies through to resolution
  • Verify the submission of documents required for project closeout
  • Participate in compiling the project closeout file and monitoring warranties
  • Regularly communicate the status of activities to the project team

Requirements

  • Hold a technician diploma or bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to construction project management for building infrastructure
  • Have a minimum of five years of experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction work on site
  • Have relevant experience on building infrastructure projects
  • Have coordinated multidisciplinary work on at least two construction projects, each valued at more than $8 million
  • Both projects must have been completed within the past five years
  • At least one project must have had a public-sector organization as the client
  • The projects must have involved a client, engineering and architectural professionals, and one or more contractors
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office
  • Strong coordination and follow-up skills
  • Demonstrate thoroughness and autonomy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from different disciplines
