About the role

  • Electrical Maintenance Supervisor overseeing preventive maintenance, reliability, and technical teams at Tenaris’ Ontario steel manufacturing mill. Supporting electrical systems, equipment startups, safety, budgets, and staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and supervise execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan
  • Analyze equipment failures, problems and performance systematically
  • Define corrective actions and generate improvement opportunities
  • Provide hands-on technical support to emergency crews and staff areas
  • Support Engineering in researching and assessing equipment and starting up new equipment
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental standards and practices are applied
  • Report incidents and observations, perform inspections and participate in investigations
  • Implement preventive and corrective actions and maintain risk and environmental assessments
  • Manage performance of direct reports through CBA application and annual performance reviews
  • Define maintenance strategies for systems to optimize equipment reliability and maintainability
  • Maintain a visible presence in the mill to foster engagement and assess work-process effectiveness
  • Prepare the maintenance cost budget and control costs within agreed limits
  • Ensure technical resource availability and maintain minimum stock levels
  • Manage and update the maintenance information system and technical documentation
  • Interact autonomously with internal and external contacts
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, management standards, laws and regulations
  • Motivate, coach, communicate with and develop staff
  • Manage HR-related activities in line with HR norms and procedures
  • Protect assigned facilities, equipment and physical resources from damage, theft or misuse
  • Oversee maintenance of finishing and hot rolling mill machinery and systems

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands-on engineering technician is an asset
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Trade (442a preferred), Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures
  • Previous experience with PLC, VFD, AC/DC motors, sensors and High Frequency heating equipment is considered an asset
  • Previous experience with SAP PM is considered an asset
  • Flexibility to work 8-hour days based on business needs
  • Participation in an on-call rotation
  • Work performed in a steel manufacturing mill
