About the role

  • Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor overseeing preventive maintenance and equipment reliability at Tenaris’s steel mill. Supporting advanced tubular products and services for the energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and supervise execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan
  • Analyze equipment failures, problems and performance, define corrective actions, and generate improvement opportunities
  • Support Engineering in researching and assessing equipment and starting up new equipment
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental standards and practices are applied
  • Report incidents or observations, perform inspections, participate in investigations, and implement preventive/corrective actions
  • Manage performance of direct reports through CBA and annual performance reviews
  • Define maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and maintainability
  • Provide technical support to emergency crews and staff areas
  • Maintain a visible mill presence, foster employee engagement, assess work-process effectiveness, and provide hands-on floor support
  • Prepare the maintenance cost budget and control costs within agreed limits
  • Ensure technical resource availability and suitable minimum stock
  • Manage and update the maintenance information system and technical documentation
  • Interact autonomously with internal and external contacts
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, management standards, laws and regulations
  • Motivate, coach, communicate with and develop staff; manage HR activities
  • Protect facilities, equipment and physical resources from damage, theft or misuse

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands-on engineering technician is an asset
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Trade (433a), Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures
  • Previous experience with SAP considered an asset
  • Flexibility to work 8-hour days based on business needs
  • Participation in an on-call rotation
  • Ability to work in a steel manufacturing mill
