About the role

  • Quality Assurance Analyst testing Shopify eCommerce products for The Dufresne Group, a Canadian furniture retailer. Developing test strategies, executing manual and automated testing, and tracking defects across digital products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Development team to ensure projects are designed and delivered to high-quality standards.
  • Develop and document test plans, test cases and test scripts to support comprehensive and practical testing.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Perform functional, exploratory, regression, acceptance, performance, security and usability testing to identify defects that existing test cases may not uncover.
  • Identify, track and report software defects, working with cross-functional teams to support timely resolution.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to support the delivery of high-quality software.
  • Partner with Development, Product Management and Customer Support teams to help create a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably within a software development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with both manual and automated testing.
  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of test case and defect-management tools such as Azure DevOps, Xray or Jira.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with regression, acceptance, performance, security and usability testing.
  • Ability to analyze complex quality issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with Xray or a similar test-management tool, including experience developing test plans and strategies for manual and automated testing.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, troubleshooting, debugging and analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence improvements to performance, quality and user experience.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • CSQA or ISTQB certification would be considered an asset.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check may be required.
