About the role
- Quality Assurance Analyst testing Shopify eCommerce products for The Dufresne Group, a Canadian furniture retailer. Developing test strategies, executing manual and automated testing, and tracking defects across digital products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Development team to ensure projects are designed and delivered to high-quality standards.
- Develop and document test plans, test cases and test scripts to support comprehensive and practical testing.
- Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, acceptance, performance, security and usability testing to identify defects that existing test cases may not uncover.
- Identify, track and report software defects, working with cross-functional teams to support timely resolution.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to support the delivery of high-quality software.
- Partner with Development, Product Management and Customer Support teams to help create a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Three or more years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably within a software development environment.
- Demonstrated experience with both manual and automated testing.
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of test case and defect-management tools such as Azure DevOps, Xray or Jira.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with regression, acceptance, performance, security and usability testing.
- Ability to analyze complex quality issues and develop effective solutions.
- Proficiency with Xray or a similar test-management tool, including experience developing test plans and strategies for manual and automated testing.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, troubleshooting, debugging and analytical skills.
- Ability to influence improvements to performance, quality and user experience.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
- CSQA or ISTQB certification would be considered an asset.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check may be required.
