Medical Scientific Liaison advancing Thermo Fisher Scientific biomarker assays for maternal fetal medicine and prenatal screening. Building scientific partnerships and informing clinical strategy through customer education and medical insights.
Responsibilities
Accelerate national adoption and integration of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s B·R·A·H·M·S biomarker assays through peer-to-peer scientific dialogue supporting the Medical Plan, with a focus on maternal fetal medicine
Educate internal stakeholders and external customers on disease states applicable to the biomarker portfolio, particularly prenatal screening
Act as a consulting expert to help customers develop pathways and protocols that improve clinical practice and patient management
Respond to off-label medical information requests with fair-balanced scientific and technical assay and disease-state information
Serve as the disease and assay clinical expert
Identify and profile Advisors, Key Opinion Leaders, and other influencers, and nurture scientific relationships with them
Attend scientific medical congresses and hold scientific conversations in Medical Affairs conference settings
Prepare conference reports and create medical post-meeting communications
Generate scientific and medical insights to inform medical and clinical strategy
Identify potential leading-researcher consultants and future research projects, and channel collaboration proposals to the internal review board
At least 1–2 years’ experience in maternal fetal medicine strongly preferred
Passion for advancing patient care through clinical education, scientific engagement, and professional networking
Self-starter
Willingness to travel 3 to 4 days per week, including multiple overnights (2 to 3 per week)
Strong written and formal presentation communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and persuasion skills
Ability to professionally present Thermo Fisher Scientific to individuals and multidisciplinary groups
Scientific, creative, and strategic thinking
Ability to present and maintain fair balance during scientific discussions and presentations
Comprehensive skills establishing and maintaining relationships with external thought leaders, including physicians, pharmacists, and allied healthcare professionals
