About the role

  • Senior Accountant supporting Think Research’s digital health software business. Leading consolidation, IFRS reporting, tax filings, payroll, and month-end close remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Controller and support the accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions
  • Lead month-end closing, including journal entries for accruals, depreciation, amortization, and variance analysis
  • Oversee month-end account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
  • Prepare consolidations, key working papers, consolidated schedules, and management reports
  • Lead intercompany transaction accounting and reconciliation across subsidiaries
  • Prepare and review capitalized labor and amortization
  • Assist with capitalization memos
  • Process and reconcile cross-charges among related entities
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and variance analysis
  • Process payroll and enter employee changes, hours, and updates into the payroll system
  • Verify payroll reports before processing
  • Support annual financial audits and quarterly financial reviews
  • Assist with financial statements, MD&A, and notes to financial statements
  • Perform technical accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable support, and financial analysis
  • Prepare and file HST/QST returns and remittances
  • Respond to GST/HST and QST notices, reassessments, and government audit inquiries
  • Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors for corporate tax return preparation
  • Identify and implement process improvements, efficiency measures, and automation
  • Contribute to finance projects and initiatives on an ad hoc basis

Requirements

  • University degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting
  • CPA designation or equivalent accounting designation
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a finance and accounting role
  • Experience in a multi-entity and multi-currency SaaS environment
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong experience with IFRS reporting and technical accounting
  • Knowledge of IFRS 16 Leases, IFRS 9 Financial Instruments, IAS 38 Intangible Assets, and IFRS related to Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Experience preparing indirect tax filings including GST/HST and QST returns
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange accounting and intercompany eliminations
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to solve problems and navigate complexity in an evolving and ambiguous environment
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, multi-currencies, and multi-subsidiary consolidation
  • Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and Salesforce preferred
  • Canadian work experience is not required
