About the role

  • Lead SAP ABAP engineer designing integrations between SAP platforms and Thomson Reuters’ ONESOURCE tax compliance products. Guiding development teams, AI-enabled engineering, and customer-facing delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Drive transformation and innovation of existing and new Thomson Reuters SAP products
  • Design and develop architecture for SAP-integrated solutions to ONESOURCE Transactional Compliance Products, including Indirect Tax and Pagero E-Invoice
  • Lead development teams responsible for SAP integrations
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within scope, on time, and with quality, security, and reliability
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of team operations and processes
  • Review team members' work to maintain high standards and code quality
  • Develop frameworks, standards, and guardrails for an AI-enabled software development lifecycle
  • Support responsible adoption of AI-assisted coding, testing, and code review practices
  • Work with international development teams and partners, including SAP
  • Participate in go-to-market activities with Product Management, Sales, Professional Services, and Solutions Consulting
  • Engage directly with customers to support their success
  • Mentor the next generation of SAP developers
  • Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from architecture and development to go-to-market activities and customer engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience
  • At least 2 years in a lead role
  • Deep expertise in OOP concepts, including Singleton, Abstract classes, Inheritance, and Polymorphism
  • Strong experience with web services including WSDL, SOAP, XML payload, Proxies, and SOAMANAGER
  • Knowledge of SAP integration middleware and modern APIs including REST, JSON, and OData
  • Expert knowledge of SAP enhancement techniques including User Exits, BADIs, and Enhancement Points
  • Expertise in building configurable, scalable solutions adhering to SAP coding best practices
  • Strong hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex
  • Sound judgment in validating and securing AI-generated code
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask, thrive under tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced product development environment
  • Preferred: experience with External Tax Determination or E-Invoicing integrations and solutions
  • Preferred: strong functional knowledge of SAP SD, MM, and FI
