Education Consultant coordinating medical education programs at Trillium Health Partners’ community teaching hospitals. Managing learner onboarding, scheduling, simulation operations and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, development and implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs
Lead onboarding of clerks and postgraduate learners, including registration, orientation, seminar coordination and data management
Manage schedule development for clerks and postgraduate learners, including seminars, electives and selectives
Coordinate administrative operations of the Simulation Program, including scheduling, logistics, equipment procurement, space and equipment preparation
Serve as a primary simulation contact for faculty, learners and staff
Support physician engagement and relationship management
Manage issues and risks and develop mitigation strategies with Education Leadership
Prepare preceptor payments and medical trainee data submissions
Support hospital faculty appointment processes
Develop presentations, program plans, evaluations and other program materials
Assist with physician education lead contract renewals
Support process improvements and curriculum changes
Support Foundations, observerships, Enriching Education Experiences and interprofessional education
Provide project management and special event support
Assist in developing medical education policies and procedures
Coordinate and align education activities across clinical and clinical support programs
Support the OSCE process and recurring education initiatives such as the Better Together Awards
Assist with Faculty Development initiatives
Support internal and external stakeholder engagement, including clinical program leadership, Professional Practice, Medical Administration, the University of Toronto and Mississauga Academy of Medicine
Requirements
University degree or equivalent experience
Experience in project and program management
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a hospital or other healthcare related field
Extensive experience with stakeholder engagement
Understanding of medical education and physician roles/responsibilities in academic environment
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Exceptional time management skills
Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
Strong leadership skills and experience managing project teams of staff, vendors, clinicians, executives and academic partners
Strong problem solving, analytical and conflict resolution skills
Strong conceptual skills and systems thinking
Strong marketing, business proposal writing, report writing and presentation skills
Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Ability to function effectively during periods of rapid change and transition
Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior management, internal and external stakeholders
Ability to link operational practices to business strategies
Travel between all three sites of Trillium Health Partners is required
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as necessary
