About the role
- Youth Peer Research Assistant supporting Trillium Health Partners’ community movement intervention research in Mississauga Valleys. Contributing to co-design, hackathon delivery, qualitative analysis, and knowledge mobilization.
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of research and co-design activities for the Belonging Through Movement Project
- Support co-design and delivery of the Belonging Through Movement Hackathon, including session design, participant engagement, facilitation and event-day delivery
- Serve on and liaise with the Community Advisory Board, bringing youth lived/living experience to project discussions and decisions
- Review and help analyze qualitative data from hackathons, co-design sessions and related activities
- Participate in manuscript writing and knowledge mobilization products, including briefing notes, slides, abstracts and community-facing outputs
- Support co-design of the pilot implementation and evaluation plan, embedding equity, diversity, inclusion and justice perspectives
- Attend research team meetings, project check-ins and trainings
- Perform other assigned responsibilities
Requirements
- Youth community member residing in the Mississauga Valleys neighbourhood
- Lived/living experience and community knowledge of the Mississauga Valleys community
- Interest in community-based research, co-design processes and youth engagement
- Interest in learning about and conducting qualitative methods and related analysis
- Motivation to engage with local communities, project participants and stakeholders
- Interest in academic and report writing
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Understanding of and sensitivity to equity, diversity and inclusion issues
- CV and cover letter detailing relevant lived experience
- Remote work outside of Ontario or Canada is not acceptable
- No previous research experience required; research training will be provided
