Senior full - stack engineer building production web applications for Mecka AI’s robotics and embodied - AI data infrastructure. Owning frontend, backend, AI integrations, and operational workflows end to end.
About the role
- Senior Software Engineer building Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and developer platforms. Supporting Tubi’s free streaming service used by over 100 million monthly active users.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate core platforms for compute, networking, traffic, deployments, and observability
- Manage and scale multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments for high availability, performance, and reliability
- Design and operate networking and traffic layers from the edge through service-to-service communication
- Implement safe rollout strategies including canary releases, blue/green deployments, and gradual rollouts using Istio/Envoy service mesh technologies
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and self-service deployment tooling
- Automate deployments and rollbacks and improve the release experience for Tubi engineers
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Build and operate monitoring, logging, and tracing platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Write and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, traffic policies, and best practices
- Partner with developers, SREs, and platform teams on scalable release and traffic strategies
- Mentor junior engineers, including on AI-assisted workflows
- Participate in interviewing and onboarding
- Lead major infrastructure initiatives from problem definition through rollout and adoption
- Help shape the technical roadmap and propose new investments
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure as Code with AWS
- 3+ years of experience with production Kubernetes clusters
- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in production environments
- Depth in one or more core infrastructure domains: compute, networking, observability, or release engineering
- Expertise in CI/CD workflows and tools such as ArgoCD, FluxCD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Solid foundation in Linux, networking, and containerization
- Programming skills in Go or Python for automation and platform tooling
- Strong technical writing skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven experience in high-pressure incident response
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience leading at least one major technical initiative from design through delivery
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Willingness to travel to the Toronto office two days per week
