About the role
- Facility Maintenance Technician maintaining and repairing U-Haul buildings, equipment, and sites in Edmonton. Performing electrical and general facility maintenance with other technicians.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain and build new buildings
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites
- Work with a variety of hand/power tools
- Pool knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner
- Keep track of company truck and gas card
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
Requirements
- Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing, or landscaping
- Ideal candidate would have an electrical background
- Valid driver’s license
- D.O.T certification, which can be sponsored by U-Haul
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals with required safety precautions
- Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields
- Ability to remain stationary indoors and outdoors for long periods
- Ability to traverse spaces and reposition to reach and use tools
- Ability to move a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted
