About the role

  • Senior Data Engineer building Palantir Foundry data solutions for Unit8, a Swiss AI and data analytics consultancy. Supporting client delivery and establishing its Canadian market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data solutions and infrastructure
  • Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot complex data pipelines and processing systems using open-source and closed-source technologies, with a strong focus on Palantir Foundry
  • Drive optimization, testing, and tooling to ensure exceptional data quality
  • Collaborate with software engineers, ML experts, and stakeholders in a cross-functional agile environment
  • Experiment, iterate, and deliver new product objectives in multifunctional agile teams
  • Work directly with customers, owning delivery strategy and implementation
  • Help establish Unit8's Canadian office and expand its strategy and brand

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software/data engineering or data science
  • Deep expertise in at least one key domain: Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud Engineering, or GenAI
  • Proven experience in pre-sales, proposal design, or technical advisory influencing executive decision-making
  • For relevant tracks, past experience building solutions with LLMs and deep understanding of the GenAI landscape, including Evaluation, Training, and Problem Decomposition
  • Extensive data-related consulting experience, data strategy, architecture design, and implementation of large-scale data solutions following client requirements (nice to have)
  • Programming/scripting experience, such as Python and/or PySpark
  • Proficiency in Palantir Foundry (nice to have)
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related engineering fields
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 10% to client sites
  • Willingness to contribute to thought leadership through LinkedIn and blogs
  • Strong client-facing skills, presentation ability, and problem-solving mindset
  • Located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, or willing to relocate
