About the role

  • Athletics fundraising and alumni relations coordinator advancing University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas sports programs. Managing stewardship, donor engagement, alumni associations, events and data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead short- and long-term stewardship initiatives supporting the sustainability and success of Golden Bears and Pandas inter-university sports programs
  • Assist with raising more than one million dollars annually
  • Develop, manage and execute strategic fundraising and alumni relations strategies and initiatives
  • Build the Athletics Stewardship Strategic Plan and execute stewardship, alumni, donor, friends-relations, affinity and engagement activities
  • Support 15 Golden Bears and Pandas alumni associations through leadership with the Green & Gold Athletic Society
  • Implement communication strategies and ongoing advancement initiatives and events
  • Screen, triage, direct and process phone, electronic and in-person queries
  • Draft routine communications and prepare, proofread and reformat documents
  • Maintain mailing lists, records, files, spreadsheets and databases; prepare standard, ad-hoc and customized reports
  • Organize meetings, coordinate agendas and documents, prepare supporting materials and distribute minutes
  • Assist with sponsorship funds, paperwork, supplier information and related finance or HR transactions
  • Coordinate stakeholder responses and ensure compliance with university policies
  • Build and support team-level fundraising initiatives with central units
  • Enter donor, alumni and prospect data; complete gift documentation and stewardship reports
  • Manage assigned projects from start to finish, including project plans, deliverables and logistics for committees, meetings, seminars, team activities and events
  • Facilitate strategic planning processes and provide data analysis and advice on initiatives, operational plans and performance measures
  • Research, collect and analyze data; create reports, identify trends and recommend operational improvements

Requirements

  • Diploma required (e.g. Administrative diploma program or management program)
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Ability to prioritize and strong organizational skills are required
  • Ability to work in a flexible and changing environment is required
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously is required
  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree considered an asset
  • Strong customer service or hospitality background is an asset
  • Previous employment in an Academic environment is an asset
