About the role
- Product Manager owning strategy and infrastructure capabilities for Upsun, a cloud application platform. Designing developer- and AI-agent-friendly workflows, APIs, and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own a significant area of Upsun Cloud, a cloud application platform, and the outcomes it delivers for developers
- Own product strategy, roadmap, and priorities for the assigned area
- Synthesize customer, support, sales, and engineering inputs into clear problem statements
- Explore solution options, evaluate trade-offs, and determine appropriate scope
- Release incrementally and shorten the feedback loop between shipping and learning
- Collaborate with infrastructure and systems engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, developer-friendly platform capabilities
- Design features, APIs, documentation, and error messages for both people and AI agents
- Connect with customers regularly and advocate internally for their needs
- Define metrics demonstrating value for users and the business
- Build alignment across engineering, design, Product Marketing, support, and leadership
- Partner with Product Marketing on go-to-market strategy and product development
Requirements
- Proven experience in product management owning a distinct product area, ideally focused on developer platforms, PaaS, or cloud infrastructure
- Understanding of building, deploying, and running applications in the cloud
- Ability to collaborate closely with infrastructure engineers on multi-tenant architectures or distributed systems
- Familiarity with building software using languages such as Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, Go, or Rust
- Hands-on experience or close collaboration with CI/CD workflows
- Experience with Docker/OCI container technologies
- Clear vision for intuitive API design
- Daily use of modern AI tools to research, draft, and prototype workflows
- Understanding of current AI tools' and models' limitations
- Strong perspective on autonomous agent architecture and agentic workflows
- Comfort turning unstructured problem spaces into clear strategies
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of listening, building consensus, and uniting teams around a shared vision
- Ability to seek out and evaluate data to guide decisions and track success
- Legally authorized to work in Germany, Canada, Spain, France, or the UK
- Ability to pass a background check
