About the role
- Project Manager delivering commercial interior design projects for Ware Malcomb, a global architecture and engineering design firm. Leading teams, budgets, consultants, and contract documents from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver innovative interior design projects from initial concept through construction
- Lead internal and external project teams
- Maintain financial responsibility for projects by adhering to budgets and workplans
- Oversee development of contract documents
- Serve as the primary client contact
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate project phases
- Prepare project schedules
- Discuss project health administratively and technically with the operations leader
- Escalate changing project conditions to office leadership
- Maintain and weekly update project planners
- Issue and obtain approval for additional services before starting added scope
- Utilize resource groups for design and construction documents
- Provide construction services, including site visits and shop drawing reviews
- Coordinate with the contracts team for project contract execution
- Represent Ware Malcomb at jurisdictional public design review or development approval meetings and project presentations
- Assemble consultant teams, identify scopes, collect fees, select consultants, and facilitate contracts
- Mentor junior project members
- Assist with proposals and consultant coordination
- Coordinate with accounting on accounts receivable, consultant payables, and invoicing
- Coordinate project consultants through all project phases
- Coordinate quality control and review contract documents before issuance
- Assist with marketing to existing and new clients
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in the field of Interior Design or Architecture
- Diverse project experience, including workplace, retail or other commercial projects
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- NCIDQ or ARIDO preferred
- AutoCAD and Revit skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Newforma
- Thorough knowledge of building codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
