About the role
- Senior Analyst role ensuring internal control testing and RCSA documentation for a bank in Toronto. Hybrid work, 7-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Manager, the primary role of the Senior Analyst is to ensure internal control testing is effectively and efficiently conducted based on the requirements of the 2nd line functions (e.g., Compliance, Risk, AML, etc.). Key accountabilities include: assisting with creation and maintenance of Value Chain, Assessable Unit, and Unique Business Process inventories; assessing multiple individual processes concurrently; consolidating risks and controls across processes; assisting with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) documentation and engaging other risk partners; executing testing of key controls within established deadlines; ensuring exceptions are analyzed, reported, and tracked; supporting development of action/remediation plans; supporting assessment of Key Risk Indicators; identifying opportunities to improve processes; and assisting with ad-hoc initiatives.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: University education; 5 years of relevant experience (Risk, Audit, Compliance preferred). MUST HAVE: 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in Risk, Audit, Quality Control Testing, or Compliance; proven end-to-end RCSA experience; advanced knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures; prior audit or quality control testing experience; MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word; ability to work independently and as a team; ability to analyze, research, organize, and prioritize work. Nice to Have: Wholesale operations or derivative operations experience; experience with Aris software; familiarity with major financial institution/bank testing methodologies.
