Responsibilities
- We are hiring a Principal Databricks Data Engineer for a full-time, permanent hybrid role in Toronto, ON. The role involves modernizing legacy Cloudera platforms to Databricks Lakehouse, redesigning ingestion and transformation patterns, implementing Medallion architecture, and leading architecture decisions. You will work with finance and risk data models, build semantic layers for BI, and mentor senior engineers.
Requirements
- 12–18 years of overall data engineering experience; 8+ years in enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake platforms; 5+ years hands-on with Databricks and Spark at scale; experience modernizing Cloudera platforms; strong experience in finance and risk data models; experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure); CI/CD pipelines; orchestration tools; dbt is a plus.
