About the role

  • Education content consultant creating document-based assessment tasks, reference answers, and objective rubrics for 24-MAG’s remote research projects. Part-time independent contractor role for US or Canadian professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Create complex, realistic tasks grounded in educational materials and professional education workflows
  • Develop assignments requiring interpretation of documents, charts, tables, diagrams, presentations, and other visual resources
  • Design tasks requiring meaningful subject-matter judgement and objectively verifiable expected outputs
  • Analyse educational documents containing text, graphics, tables, diagrams, and structured information
  • Create questions requiring synthesis across multiple visual or textual elements
  • Ensure conclusions remain grounded in supplied materials
  • Create tasks involving multi-step instructions and clearly defined deliverables
  • Evaluate whether responses satisfy stated requirements
  • Identify missing information, instruction-following errors, and unsupported conclusions
  • Develop consistent assessment criteria distinguishing complete and partially correct responses
  • Produce authoritative reference outputs and establish ground truth
  • Verify reference answers are accurate, complete, and reproducible
  • Document reasoning and evidence supporting expected outcomes
  • Resolve ambiguity before evaluation
  • Write objective rubrics defining successful responses
  • Identify essential elements of correct answers and distinguish substantive errors from minor presentation differences
  • Refine tasks and rubrics for clarity, difficulty, and evaluation reliability
  • Maintain consistent quality standards across the project

Requirements

  • Professional or academic background in Education, Curriculum, Instructional Design, Educational Assessment, or a closely related field
  • Strong ability to interpret educational documents and visually structured information
  • Experience working with instructional materials, assessments, curricula, or educational content
  • Strong analytical judgement and attention to detail
  • Ability to create clearly defined tasks with objective expected outcomes
  • Excellent written English and ability to explain reasoning precisely
  • Comfortable working independently within structured project guidelines
  • Based in the United States or Canada
  • Approximately 15–20 hours per week commitment
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
