About the role

  • Member service representative supporting Access Credit Union members across Manitoba branches. Handling inquiries, administrative support, referrals, and community-focused business development.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and potential members and respond to inquiries about basic credit union products and services
  • Resolve member problems wherever possible and refer complex issues to appropriate personnel or departments
  • Refer members to appropriate staff members and departments in person or by telephone
  • Solicit new members and foster business development through service excellence, product knowledge and teamwork
  • Provide clerical support and assistance to department or branch staff
  • Process reports and documentation efficiently and accurately while meeting deadlines
  • Coordinate resources and supplies to ensure Access standards are met
  • Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff
  • Identify referral opportunities for lending and wealth teams
  • Seek new business and referral opportunities supporting branch and organizational goals
  • Retain and expand existing member relationships while pursuing new business
  • Differentiate credit union and competitor products and services based on member needs
  • Represent the credit union in the community through professional and personal involvement
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
  • Provide lending services support to the Beausejour, Oakbank and Whitemouth branches

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner
  • Ability to identify and willingness to act upon sales and service opportunities
  • Basic understanding of account opening and credit granting functions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
  • Knowledge of Access Credit Union’s products and services
  • Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Business Administration or other post-secondary education would be considered an asset
