About the role
- Senior Systems Engineer operating Acumatica’s cloud ERP SaaS environments. Leading incident response, AWS operations, customer support, and service reliability improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of various SaaS delivery environments
- Drive strategic initiatives for reliability, scalability, and quality of service
- Lead incident management and monitor production service delivery environments
- Ensure services and applications operate optimally and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Provide exceptional customer service and help desk support
- Administer and maintain Acumatica SaaS Deployment lifecycle operations
- Develop and implement strategies for SaaS Deployment lifecycle administration and maintenance
- Operate and maintain AWS environments according to standard procedures
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities
- Solve complex problems affecting service delivery across the environment
- Provide level 3 support for customer- and partner-initiated issues
- Mentor junior engineers
- Identify systems deficiencies and recommend innovative solutions
- Document forecasts, plans, and resolutions
- Drive innovation and implement new tools, technologies, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure organizational alignment and consistency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent
- At least 5+ years’ experience in relational databases, preferably using MS SQL, with experience in database design and optimization
- At least 5+ years’ experience managing websites, preferably using IIS, with experience in web application development and deployment
- At least 5+ years’ experience in basic scripting, such as PowerShell or Python
- At least 1+ year’s experience in DevOps tools and practices, such as Jenkins or Git
- At least 1+ year’s experience in cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior engineers
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong customer-oriented approach
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure just-in-time environment
- Experience with Accounting, ERP, or other business management software is a plus
- Willing to work on a weekend on-call rotation
