About the role

  • Information Security Officer responsible for safeguarding information assets in Alberta. Joining the Government's Cyber Threat Hunting Team in an important role focused on cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
  • Conduct threat hunts and perform penetration testing.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and investigate threats.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for assessments and investigations.

Requirements

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience in Information Systems Security, IT Infrastructure Planning, and/or IT Architecture.
  • Cyber Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, SANS, CEH, GPEN, or equivalent, and working towards multiple certifications.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
