About the role

  • Information Security Officer responsible for safeguarding Alberta’s information assets. Join a team driving critical cybersecurity initiatives across the Government of Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Government of Alberta's information assets.
  • Monitoring security events, investigating threats, and responding to incidents.
  • Analyzing security data, coordinating response, and supporting containment and recovery.
  • Collecting, monitoring, and analyzing logs.

Requirements

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience for ISO3
  • Experience with AI-powered cybersecurity tools and techniques.
  • Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, SANS, CEH, GPEN, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Proficient in one or more programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++)
