About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and multidisciplinary design activities
- Validate proposed solutions and ensure their industrial feasibility before transfer to manufacturing
- Lead design reviews and validation testing
- Review drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
- Oversee technical records, document management, and compliance with applicable standards
- Oversee quality audits
- Identify opportunities to improve products based on customer data, field testing, and production feedback
- Explore new technologies or materials and recommend improvement strategies
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate engineers and technicians
- Set individual objectives, identify training needs, and participate in recruitment
- Manage the department budget
- Prepare performance and progress reports
- Participate in the management committee and monitor workload
- Contribute to the organization’s strategic priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Active membership in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment with strict standards and documentation requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Bilingual in French and English
