About the role
- Accountant responsible for reconciling financial statements and ensuring compliance at AlgaeCal. Involved in preparing reports and enhancing systems for operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile statements accurately and efficiently
- Prepare financial reports and commentary
- Maintain capital asset registers and track acquisitions/disposals
- Create standardized templates in QBO/Excel
- Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Propose automation for inefficiencies
Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Proven track record in full-cycle bookkeeping
- Experience preparing full monthly financials
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Strong skills in Excel including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and pivot tables
- Knowledge of compliance for CRA, IRS, VAT, GST/HST, WCB, EHT, WSIB
