About the role
- Part-time Claims Specialist recovering carrier payments for Logistics Alliance, which moves freight for Canadian retailers and manufacturers. Investigating loss, negotiating disputes, and managing claims through payment.
Responsibilities
- Triage inboxes, OS&D reports, and specialist tags to identify claim opportunities
- Build evidence packages using Bills of Lading, PODs, photos, and customer invoices
- Communicate with carriers by phone and email regarding disputes and missing documents
- Negotiate carrier disputes and pursue claim recovery
- Update claim statuses on the Monday board
- Monitor response timelines and issue final notices
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable on deductions when final notices are ignored
- Confirm and record carrier payments
- Close the carrier portion of files for leadership review
Requirements
- Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage a high volume of emails and competing tasks
- Strong investigative mindset and ability to analyze documents and photos to pinpoint supply chain failures
- Professional persistence and comfort with frequent follow-ups and carrier negotiations
- Ability to maintain accuracy and focus in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to learn new software quickly
