About the role
- Underwriting Associate supporting mortgage approvals, document verification, and quality audits at Bridgewater Bank. Collaborating with underwriters and customers to ensure closing conditions are met.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Team Lead, Underwriting
- Support Mortgage Underwriters by completing file follow-up and ensuring conditions are met before closing
- Follow up on commitments and request specific documents
- Verify the accuracy of mortgage document specifications
- Ensure all mortgage approval conditions are met
- Route risk-involved matters to the Underwriter for evaluation
- Analyze land titles, purchase contracts, and appraisal reports for inconsistencies
- Confirm closing details, including dates, client information, and payment frequency
- Collaborate with internal and external Bridgewater Bank and AMA customers to achieve departmental and organizational goals
- Complete Quality Assurance audits on assigned files
