About the role

  • American Express intern supporting card and merchant network businesses through project management, product analysis, and marketing campaigns. Applying business education to customer and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Apply education to real-world business challenges across American Express
  • Contribute to project proposals, execute timely next steps, and communicate with stakeholders to gain alignment
  • Conduct data analysis, reporting, and research supporting regulatory and governance initiatives
  • Track requirements, deliverables, and compliance activities
  • Support growth and ongoing management of American Express product portfolios, including Cards and Insurance
  • Analyze business performance, customer insights, and market trends to identify opportunities and inform product strategy
  • Support development and management of marketing campaigns across social media, the Amex mobile app, email, and other customer engagement platforms
  • Research market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes to inform marketing decisions and identify growth opportunities
  • Build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the organization

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
  • Bachelor’s degree candidates with an expected graduation date between June 2028 and December 2030
  • Areas of study e.g., Business, Marketing, or related fields
  • Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using Microsoft Office tools
  • Adaptability to learn new platforms and systems
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up skills
  • Demonstrated project management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and improve existing processes
  • Focus on innovation and desire to own a project from conception through implementation and evaluation
  • Excellent relationship management skills and comfort working across various organizational levels
