About the role
- Staff Accountant responsible for general accounting activities and maintaining financial reports at AMMEGA Canada. Role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and a focus on compliance and controls.
Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounting, including recording transactions in journals and posting to ledgers and reconciling trial balance accounts
- Prepare and deliver financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Support capital asset accounting, including additions and disposals and depreciation calculations and journal entries
- Partner with the Country Financial Director to support forecasting and budgeting and financial analysis
- Support cross-functional finance activities, including AP, AR, banking, month-end close, and reconciliations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Public accounting experience is an asset
- Working knowledge of IFRS (fundamental knowledge required; advanced is a plus)
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (required)
