About the role

  • Project Manager leading LEAN and DMAIC transformation projects at Apotex, a Canadian pharmaceutical manufacturer. Driving cross-functional improvement, risk management, training and measurable business results at the Brantford API site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams and facilitate continuous improvement projects at the site
  • Plan and execute project activities using business databases, project tools, systems, methodologies and software
  • Identify, prioritize, select and execute LEAN projects using DMAIC methodology
  • Develop project designs, justifications, scopes, specifications and cost estimates
  • Teach and apply LEAN tools and methodology as a change agent
  • Evaluate product portfolio segments to identify growth opportunities
  • Lead ad hoc strategy projects and initiatives for internal assets and external opportunities
  • Develop and implement cross-functional project teams, systems, policies, procedures and performance measures
  • Interface with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Validation, QA, R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Finance for cross-functional alignment and risk management
  • Mentor teams, build relationships, envision meaningful change and support strategic thinking and team building
  • Develop stakeholder relationships, assess requirements, provide advice and manage expectations
  • Facilitate and deliver LEAN tools training under the direction of Corporate OpEx
  • Measure, monitor and report change effectiveness using metrics and KPIs
  • Track benefit realization and cost savings against the prior state
  • Identify, quantify, manage and track project issues and risks
  • Manage program and project scope, dependencies, timelines, budgets, communications, goals and deliverables
  • Collaborate safely as a team member and demonstrate organizational values
  • Maintain adherence to business ethics, quality, safety, environmental and HR policies
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Lean Six Sigma credential required
  • PMP credential required
  • Change Management credential required
  • High-level performance in current and previous positions
  • Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, CPG, or Food & Beverage
  • Initiative and motivation to drive change and exceed expectations
  • Solid leadership skills with ability to manage vertically and horizontally
  • Demonstrated ability to use Lean Six Sigma practices and apply DMAIC
  • Experience using project management tools and processes
  • Solid experience in project/program management, including large-scale projects/programs of significant complexity and value
  • Industry-specific knowledge and experience strongly preferred
