About the role

  • QC Coordinator receiving and managing laboratory samples for Apotex, a Canadian pharmaceutical company. Maintaining QC inventories, LIMS records, laboratory supplies, and compliant sample disposal.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and log raw material, semi-finished, finished, validation, stability, and STR samples according to established procedures
  • Store samples under recommended storage conditions
  • Maintain inventories of laboratory supplies, samples, standards, reagents, columns, placebos, gas cylinders, and photocopier supplies
  • Maintain clean laboratory glassware and a clean wash lab area
  • Provide samples and laboratory supplies to QC team members and assist lab chemists
  • Provide standards with Certificates of Analysis to internal and external customers
  • Log raw material samples for House Standardization into LIMS
  • Dispose of samples safely and compliantly and coordinate pharmaceutical waste removal
  • Send laboratory samples for external testing in compliance with requirements
  • Perform TDA-related duties as required
  • Activate and deactivate laboratory instrumentation in LIMS when required
  • Collaborate as a team member to achieve outcomes
  • Adhere to business ethics, quality, safety, environmental, and HR compliance policies
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Community College education in Chemistry or a related field at a recognized educational institution; or relevant experience
  • Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of cGMP/cGLP
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Compliance with business ethics, quality, safety, environmental, and HR policies
