About the role

  • Director leading national strategic accounts for Applied Canada, a distributor of industrial products and technical solutions. Driving profitable growth, enterprise relationships and complex customer opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national Strategic Accounts growth plan aligned with Applied Canada’s business strategy
  • Build senior-level relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Lead complex national opportunities, including account strategy, executive presentations, proposals, RFPs, pricing, negotiations and contract closure
  • Expand customer value by integrating products, service-centre network, digital solutions, technical expertise, repair capabilities and Engineered Solutions
  • Create account plans, pipeline visibility and commercial rhythms to drive growth, retention and share-of-wallet expansion
  • Protect profitable growth through deal economics, pricing discipline, contract governance and performance monitoring
  • Partner across regions, service centres, supply chain, operations, finance, marketing and technical teams
  • Use market intelligence and customer insight to identify opportunities across Canada’s industrial corridors and priority sectors
  • Lead, coach and develop the Strategic Accounts team
  • Establish goals and KPIs, review results, remove barriers and ensure follow-through
  • Represent Applied Canada with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Model Applied’s values, Code of Business Ethics and commitment to safety, quality, customer service and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Progressive commercial leadership experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, MRO, technical services or a related business-to-business environment
  • Strong record of growing complex, multi-location or enterprise accounts and developing executive customer relationships
  • Experience leading sales teams, negotiating sophisticated agreements and translating customer needs into profitable solutions
  • Commercial and financial acumen, including pipeline management, pricing, margin, contracts, forecasting and performance metrics
  • Strong executive communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to align diverse stakeholders around customer outcomes
  • Collaborative, hands-on leadership style
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Canada and to customer locations
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
  • Bilingual English and French capability is an asset
