GIS Specialist supporting Arcadis’ sustainable civil engineering, transportation, and infrastructure projects in Vancouver. Managing geospatial data, GIS databases, CAD/BIM integration, and mapping deliverables.
Responsibilities
Provide technical geospatial data support and mapping services to internal and external stakeholders across civil engineering, transportation, and infrastructure projects
Use GIS and supporting software to manage information, analyze engineering and supplemental data, and produce mapping products
Develop technical and functional documentation for GIS platforms, applications, services, data, and associated workflows
Provide consultancy support and share GIS best practices
Help project teams solve GIS-related challenges
Liaise with partner organizations and project stakeholders to support communication and information exchange
Maintain the GIS database
Generate digital, online, and print maps using varied data sources
Review and analyze CAD and BIM data alongside supplemental geospatial content
Ensure compliance with project standards and information requirements
Undertake other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Strong technical knowledge of GIS software platforms, applications, and technology portfolios
Post-secondary diploma or degree in GIS, geomatics, engineering technology, or a related field
Minimum of five years of experience in a construction or engineering work environment, with equivalent education and experience considered
High proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise, including publishing web mapping applications and field apps
Experience integrating CAD and BIM data with GIS on civil engineering projects
Applied knowledge of coordinate systems and transformations
Working knowledge of data governance, privacy, quality control, and documentation principles
Ability to independently solve technical and operational problems using logical, structured, and methodical approaches
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to build relationships, collaborate across functional teams, manage multiple priorities independently, and deliver outcomes within agreed service levels and project timelines
