About the role
- Junior Bridge Design Coordinator supporting bridge and transportation infrastructure design at Arcadis. Assisting with structural analysis, drawings, inspections, and project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and evaluation of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation infrastructure structures
- Support preliminary and detailed design preparation
- Assist with structural analysis and calculations
- Draft drawings and technical reports
- Contribute to contractual documentation
- Coordinate project deliverables with senior engineers and other disciplines
- Support drawing review and production, including shop drawing review and RFI tracking
- Assist with site inspections and construction liaison services during construction
- Contribute to quality control and quality assurance processes
- Assist with proposal preparation and business development activities as required
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Pursuing the Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.)
- 2–4 years of experience in bridge or civil engineering, ideally including exposure to bridge design or rehabilitation projects
- Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD software
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and relevant provincial/territorial standards is an asset
- Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Excellent communication skills and interest in developing technical and professional capabilities
- EIT status or eligibility to register as an Engineer-in-Training is preferred
- Previous exposure to MTO projects or bridge inspections is an asset
