About the role

  • Traffic design coordinator supporting Arcadis’ sustainable transportation engineering projects. Preparing roadway, traffic signal, contract, and quality management documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Prepare contract documents, including project schedules, specifications, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs, using MS Office
  • Assist with traffic signal, street lighting, and roadway design work
  • Assist with quality control and assurance processes
  • Implement Design and Traffic Quality Systems Procedures in accordance with ISO 9001
  • Co-manage day-to-day quality management activities under Quality Managers' supervision
  • Liaise with disciplines to coordinate quality activities
  • Complete or coordinate site condition rating checklists
  • Report Quality Management System performance to Quality Managers
  • Prepare audit plans and checklists
  • Coordinate internal quality audits and audit schedules
  • Improve Quality Management Plans and maintain relevant records according to the Traffic and Design Quality Management Systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Traffic/Civil Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in intersection and traffic signal design, preferably in a design-consulting or utility environment
  • Eligible for or working toward Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Ontario
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, with experience using AGi32
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, quality standards, rail-related standards, and Quality Management practices
  • Knowledge of Ontario and Canadian traffic/transportation standards, including OTM Books 5, 7, 12, and 15; OESC; HTA; RP-8; MUTCDC; and TAC technical manuals
  • Experience with O. Reg. 22/04 certification and liaising with utility authorities
  • Experience in project coordination and support, including status tracking, invoicing support, site inspections, construction supervision, and contract administration
  • Assets: pole loading software experience such as SPIDACalc, MTO Major Electrical RAQS qualification, and experience delivering complex multidisciplinary MTO roadway lighting projects
