About the role

  • Entry-level water engineering designer supporting sustainable water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and infrastructure projects at Arcadis. Preparing designs, calculations, assessments, and construction services deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Support preliminary and detailed design and construction services engineering for water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and storage facilities
  • Support project management activities
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and resilience solution design
  • Perform site visits and assessments, water sampling, data analysis, technology evaluation, process troubleshooting, and plant operations optimization
  • Support process mechanical engineering design for large municipal water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed vertical infrastructure designs under Project Manager direction
  • Conduct hydraulic design calculations and size process equipment
  • Prepare design reports, specifications, process drawings, cost estimates, and tender documents
  • Conduct condition assessments of existing facilities, commission design projects, troubleshoot performance issues, and support construction services
  • Prepare reports and presentations and participate in client meetings
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards
  • Coordinate timely project completion and submission within budget
  • Use digital tools including SharePoint, BIM, CAD, Power BI, and Augmented Reality

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater treatment and pumping
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity or experience with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Preferred: prior work or internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment
  • Preferred: experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit
  • Preferred: experience with BioWin or GPS-X
