Strategy director architecting Arc’teryx’s global enterprise planning system. Connecting long-term strategy, budgets, resource allocation, and executive performance accountability.
Responsibilities
Own the enterprise planning process end-to-end, including Strategic Planning Kickoff, Long-Term Strategic Planning, AOP/budget prioritization, and Quarterly Business Reporting
Own Excom and Board of Directors preparation, the strategic calendar, and decision frameworks
Design, govern, and continuously evolve the enterprise planning system
Partner with Finance and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, resource allocation decisions, and measurable outcomes
Lead Executive Committee and Board reviews and track resulting actions
Manage the enterprise portfolio of strategic initiatives, including progress, interdependencies, risks, and outcomes
Develop scenarios, business cases, and trade-off analyses
Provide fact-based analysis, insights, and recommendations for executive decision-making
Establish performance management frameworks, scorecards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms
Drive alignment across executive leadership, functions, regions, Finance, and Amer Sports
Monitor strategic and execution risks and ensure mitigation plans are integrated into planning processes
Develop executive-level communications, planning documents, and leadership briefings
Improve planning processes, governance, reporting mechanisms, decision quality, organizational alignment, and business outcomes
Develop and maintain planning tools, templates, governance processes, and methodologies
Evolve the enterprise planning system as the business scales
Build repeatable planning frameworks and playbooks
Develop integrated financial and strategic planning models
Develop performance management tools that drive accountability and action
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, or related field
10+ years of professional work experience in strategic planning, management consulting, project management, consumer products and/or retail
Demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem solver and strategic thinker
Ability to think in systems and connect strategic planning, budget planning, QBRs, accountability, and the strategic calendar
Communication skills to work directly with a CDR and functional leaders and translate complexity into decisions
Significant experience partnering with Finance on resource allocation, budget prioritization, and performance tracking
Sharp analytical capability and strong written communication
Ability to build rigorous frameworks and write clear executive briefs
Experience working across regional and global operating models, ideally with exposure to retail or consumer-facing businesses
Organization, flexibility, high emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and ability to influence without authority across senior stakeholders
High standards for quality of thinking, clarity of communication, and follow-through
