About the role
- Full Stack Application Developer building scalable Java and PHP enterprise applications for Arctiq, a global technology services company. Developing APIs, integrations, databases, and backend services remotely across the US or Canada.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and PHP
- Develop scalable web applications and RESTful APIs
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Enhance existing applications by adding new functionality and improving performance
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
- Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures
- Build integrations with third-party applications and enterprise systems
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and APIs
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Ensure applications follow security, scalability, and performance best practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience developing applications with Java
- Strong experience developing web applications using PHP
- Experience building RESTful APIs and web services
- Experience with object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns
- Strong understanding of relational database design and SQL
- Experience with Git source control
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Spring Boot or Spring Framework preferred
- Experience with Laravel, Symfony, or other modern PHP frameworks preferred
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js preferred
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform preferred
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI preferred
- Knowledge of microservices architecture preferred
- Experience with automated testing frameworks preferred
