About the role
- Senior Manager leading Article’s global furniture sourcing strategy, supplier diversification, and cost governance. Managing sourcing teams across North America and Asia.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for Category Management
- Drive cross-functional sourcing strategies and support catalog expansion
- Translate commercial briefs into global category procurement plans
- Own and run the annual Category Positioning Matrix
- Coordinate the commercialization calendar, including New Product Introductions and Supply Chain Risk Reduction projects
- Manage cost targets, manufacturing defects, and total landed-cost optimization
- Lead complex commercial negotiations and improve Bill of Material visibility
- Develop and execute regional supply-base diversification strategies across North America, Southeast Asia, and emerging markets
- Expand the vendor ecosystem and reduce single-source dependencies and monopoly risks
- Collaborate with Product Quality to reduce Cost of Poor Quality and manage underperforming suppliers
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to regional Sourcing Managers and Specialists
- Act as the escalation path for regional, cross-functional, and factory-level constraints during North American business hours
- Monitor vendor capacity constraints involving labor, tooling, facilities, and raw-material safety stock
- Own global vendor accountability metrics, including OTIF production, product cost, and factory defect rates
- Lead sourcing operations teams across Asia and North America
- Report to Asad Ahmed
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive sourcing experience in global strategic sourcing, retail procurement, or end-to-end supply chain leadership
- Retail furniture or high-velocity apparel experience heavily preferred
- Documented success navigating specialized category dynamics, including wood, textiles, upholstery, and seasonal capacity constraints
- Proven track record executing supply footprint transformations, vendor rationalization, and multi-regional risk mitigation initiatives
- Experience working within a matrixed organizational structure
- Experience collaborating across Design, Technical Product Development, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Planning
- Experience managing distributed international teams
- Understanding of cost breakdowns, volume-based pricing strategies, supplier selection frameworks, and Master Service Agreements
- Advanced proficiency in financial scenario modeling and landed-margin risk calculations
- Experience with structured project management and pipeline environments such as Wrike
- Google Workspace / G-Suite enterprise collaboration tools
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of a criminal background check
- Ability to manage scheduling for HQ stakeholders and remote teams across Asia and North America
- Willingness to travel 25%–35% internationally and domestically, approximately 4–5 trips per year
