Responsibilities

Prepare field inventories, including protocols, equipment, and coordination
Participate in field surveys and sampling activities
Consistently apply standardized methodologies for data collection
Prepare technical reports and sections of environmental impact studies related to vegetation and wetlands
Describe baseline conditions, assess impacts, and develop mitigation measures and compensation projects
Support permitting processes and liaise with regulatory agencies
Prepare and implement field campaigns and sampling strategies
Participate in consultations with stakeholders and regulatory authorities
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, including under challenging conditions

Degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting wetland and vegetation surveys
In-depth knowledge of the Guide for the Identification and Delimitation of Wetlands in Southern Québec (Lachance et al., 2021)
Experience with provincial and federal environmental regulations
In-depth knowledge of wetland classification systems and plant ecology
Leadership and organizational skills
Familiarity with GPS units, data loggers, and relevant software
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote areas
Ability to work extended hours and perform repetitive tasks in remote areas
Availability for occasional field travel throughout Québec
