About the role

  • Geotechnical Project Manager leading rail, municipal, transportation, energy, and development projects for AtkinsRéalis. Managing multidisciplinary delivery from investigation and design through construction support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical projects from pursuit and planning through investigation, design, construction support, and closeout
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client satisfaction
  • Manage assignments for public-sector clients and support client governance, reporting, and stakeholder requirements
  • Direct multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate resources, subconsultants, drilling contractors, laboratories, and technical specialists
  • Develop project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and change-control strategies
  • Report clearly on project performance
  • Oversee technical execution and QA/QC of geotechnical investigations, analyses, designs, reports, specifications, and construction support
  • Lead proposals, fee estimates, commercial negotiations, contract administration, invoicing, and client communications
  • Support business development with public- and private-sector clients
  • Build client relationships, mentor project team members, resolve delivery issues, and promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical focus
  • P.Eng. licensed in Ontario
  • 10–15 years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience
  • Substantial responsibility managing projects from planning through design and construction support
  • Experience managing geotechnical projects for Metrolinx, the City of Toronto, Peel Region, and/or other municipalities and regional authorities
  • Experience delivering private-sector development projects
  • Strong project and commercial management capability, including proposals, work planning, resourcing, scheduling, budget and cost control, forecasting, change management, risk management, contract administration, and client engagement
  • Sound technical understanding of geotechnical investigation, design, and construction practices
  • Demonstrated application of relevant Canadian and Ontario standards
  • Judgement to coordinate technical specialists and reviewers
