About the role

  • Senior I&C Engineer designing CANDU instrumentation and control systems for AtkinsRéalis, a Canadian nuclear engineering services company. Producing specifications, assessments, design documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform instrument technical specification, EQR, sizing, and selection of I&C components
  • Produce component-related documentation, including assessment documents
  • Track schedules and progress deadlines, resolve technical issues, provide input, and guide the team
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders
  • Update and prepare I&C engineering design documents and supporting analyses, assessments, and design-basis documents
  • Prepare, review, and approve preliminary design walkdown reports and OPEX reports
  • Provide input to the drawing office for I&C engineering drawings, including general arrangement drawings, instrument loop diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams, and bills of materials

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing
  • BS Honors degree in a relevant field of I&C, Electrical, or Automation Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design of CANDU instrumentation and control systems and modifications
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Control/Modification processes is an asset
  • Experience working with instrumentation and controls equipment vendors is an asset
  • Current or previous experience with preliminary engineering, detailed design, and modification project activities under standard N-PROC-MP-0090
  • Current or previous experience with AS7 and/or AS9 systems, or an equivalent asset management system
  • Familiarity with industrial/nuclear QA programs and procedures and applicable CSA, IEEE, or related I&C engineering codes and standards is an asset
  • Nuclear site security clearance is an asset
