Senior I&C Engineer designing CANDU instrumentation and control systems for AtkinsRéalis, a Canadian nuclear engineering services company. Producing specifications, assessments, design documents, and engineering drawings.
Responsibilities
Perform instrument technical specification, EQR, sizing, and selection of I&C components
Produce component-related documentation, including assessment documents
Track schedules and progress deadlines, resolve technical issues, provide input, and guide the team
Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders
Update and prepare I&C engineering design documents and supporting analyses, assessments, and design-basis documents
Prepare, review, and approve preliminary design walkdown reports and OPEX reports
Provide input to the drawing office for I&C engineering drawings, including general arrangement drawings, instrument loop diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams, and bills of materials
Requirements
Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing
BS Honors degree in a relevant field of I&C, Electrical, or Automation Engineering
Minimum 10 years’ experience in conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design of CANDU instrumentation and control systems and modifications
Familiarity with Engineering Change Control/Modification processes is an asset
Experience working with instrumentation and controls equipment vendors is an asset
Current or previous experience with preliminary engineering, detailed design, and modification project activities under standard N-PROC-MP-0090
Current or previous experience with AS7 and/or AS9 systems, or an equivalent asset management system
Familiarity with industrial/nuclear QA programs and procedures and applicable CSA, IEEE, or related I&C engineering codes and standards is an asset
Nuclear site security clearance is an asset
