About the role

  • Vice President leading Aviva Canada's Personal Insurance transformation, AI enablement, and operational effectiveness. Driving modernization, workforce evolution, governance, and enterprise-wide change delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of the Personal Insurance strategy and transformation roadmap.
  • Drive strategic, medium-sized, and business-as-usual change initiatives across Personal Insurance.
  • Deliver future-state capabilities through modernization and emerging technologies.
  • Champion AI-enabled transformation opportunities improving customer outcomes, employee effectiveness, and operational performance.
  • Partner with Data Science, Technology, HR, Transformation, Underwriting, Pricing, and Distribution teams on enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Chair the Personal Insurance Design Authority.
  • Identify investment opportunities, support business cases, and realize planned benefits across the change portfolio.
  • Lead the operational effectiveness agenda, continuous improvement, process redesign, automation, and capability modernization.
  • Establish testing, implementation readiness, and business adoption practices.
  • Optimize third-party vendor and data investments.
  • Lead the change portfolio across underwriting, pricing, operations, and supporting functions.
  • Develop change management processes and governance structures.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, issues, and delivery priorities with Technology and Transformation teams.
  • Oversee customer remediation, production support, and business readiness planning.
  • Develop and deliver the Personal Insurance Workforce of the Future strategy with Human Resources.
  • Modernize organizational structures, capabilities, and ways of working.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, risk management, controls, oversight, and reporting across change initiatives.
  • Support audit, compliance, governance, and remediation activities.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing leadership team.
  • Drive succession planning, talent development, and leadership capability.
  • Communicate vision, strategy, and priorities to inspire engagement and accountability.

Requirements

  • University degree and relevant professional qualification, MBA, ACII, FIA, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant leadership experience driving large-scale transformation, modernization, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Personal Insurance operations, including underwriting, pricing, distribution, product management, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational excellence and continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience delivering AI, automation, data-driven, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to balance strategic investments and operating performance.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams in complex environments.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presentation skills.
  • Track record of developing high-performing teams and fostering inclusive leadership cultures.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, strategic partnerships, and enterprise investments.
