About the role
- Commercial insurance agent evaluating business risks and managing quotes, renewals, and policy changes for Beneva. Advising clients and affiliated agents on business insurance coverage.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients to gather the information required to analyze and assess risks
- Manage quotes, policy issuance, changes, renewals, and cancellations for commercial insurance policies
- Act as a resource for affiliated agents
- Negotiate and explain the reasons for accepting or declining certain applications
- Keep records up to date, process transactions, and handle required communications with clients and partners
- Advise clients and affiliated agents on the appropriate business insurance coverages and limits
- Inform clients of the limitations included in their policies
- Analyze insurance applications, assess risks, and make underwriting decisions in accordance with established standards
- Coordinate inspections, analyze reports, and ensure file compliance within established authority levels
- Develop new business opportunities through prospecting activities
Requirements
- College diploma in Insurance and Financial Services or equivalent (DCS)
- Valid AMF-issued commercial insurance agent certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance
- Significant experience underwriting commercial insurance risks
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written
- Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written
