About the role

  • Expert Project Manager planning and executing large-scale projects supporting Beneva's strategic objectives. Collaborating with high-level stakeholders and managing complex project portfolios in a centralized project office.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for planning and executing large-scale, cross-functional projects
  • Understand business challenges, identify needs and propose strategies to support project delivery or process improvements
  • Fully apply project management tools, methods and techniques, guided by Agile principles, to manage large initiatives
  • Coordinate activities to deliver roadmaps in close collaboration with the portfolio leadership team
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders involved in portfolio initiatives
  • Track work progress, ensure alignment with initiative directions and priorities, and implement monitoring and benefits-recovery mechanisms
  • Produce required metrics and measurements, report on them and implement necessary actions to ensure performance
  • Provide periodic portfolio updates and produce progress reports
  • Supervise project resources; foster engagement and mobilize people to complete planned tasks and proactively manage activities
  • Define delivery strategies, testing, deployment, training and change-management approaches with relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate and prepare various governance committees
  • Ensure post-implementation results meet client expectations and transition the project to operational mode
  • As a member of the project office, act as an ambassador in implementing agility within the organization, actively participate in communities of practice and contribute to the evolution of tools and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (IT, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or other)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project, program or portfolio management
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing large-scale projects or programs
  • Proficiency and experience with project portfolio management concepts and experience producing pre-project deliverables such as business cases (asset)
  • Project management certification (PMP, PgMP, etc.) and/or an Agile certification (SAFe, Scrum) (asset)
  • Good knowledge of business domains related to the insurance sector
  • Familiarity with tools specific to the field of expertise (CA PPM)
  • Advanced proficiency in French, both written and spoken
  • Intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken, due to the nature of tasks or interactions with English-speaking colleagues, partners, clients or vendors, and to support the company’s growth objectives.
