About the role
- Best Buy accounting administrator investigating chargebacks and recovering funds. Managing PayPal reconciliations, write-offs, and wireless warranty accounts receivable operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze chargeback claims and investigate complex transaction data
- Evaluate sales receipts, shipping documentation, and customer communications to assess financial recovery opportunities
- Gather documentation and submit formal representment evidence through card network platforms
- Work cross-functionally to confirm internal technical and operational procedures and hold credit card issuers accountable to industry rules and regulations
- Identify risks or opportunities, track chargeback metrics and trends, recommend process improvements, and escalate as necessary
- Perform PayPal method-of-payment reconciliations and manage the PayPal chargeback process
- Reconcile chargeback transactions and prepare and post journal entries for chargeback write-offs
- Complete accounts receivable operations tasks related to Best Buy warranty programs
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in accounting, banking, or financial services in a mid- to large-sized organization
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with SQL
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to investigate complex transactional issues
- Effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work within established business and card-network timelines
- A post-secondary degree in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred
