About the role

  • Junior Project Coordinator supporting Black & McDonald’s commercial, institutional, and industrial facility service projects. Coordinating schedules, documentation, vendors, clients, safety, and field operations across Southwestern Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Representatives, Operations Supervisors, and Field Technicians in planning, executing, and completing sold projects
  • Assist with project scheduling, milestone tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and progress reporting
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for upcoming maintenance and project work
  • Coordinate activities between field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Assist with work order creation, purchase orders, shop drawings, insurance certificates, notices of project, Form 1000s, and authority documentation
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and document control systems
  • Assist with project closeout, equipment list updates, drawings/layouts, and turnover documentation
  • Prepare proactive client recommendations, technician recommendation estimates, and client-facing documents
  • Obtain quotes, schedule repairs, and ensure contractor and service-provider work meets standards
  • Attend client and project sites to verify or execute work and support sales or client initiatives
  • Resolve problems and conflicts while maintaining communication with clients and stakeholders
  • Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety policies and regulations
  • Assemble safety boards and assist with safety plans, safety monitoring, and photo documentation management
  • Attend service, project, and safety meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Post Secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering; Engineering Technology; Construction Management; or Energy Systems & Sustainability
  • Equivalent industry experience as a skilled tradesperson in HVAC/R, Electrical, Plumbing, or related fields
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a related field is an asset
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R, Combustion, Plumbing, and Electrical fields is an asset
  • General knowledge of built-environment mechanical, heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and energy systems, including related standards and good practices
  • Proactive problem-solving, accountability, and follow-through
  • Organization and time-management skills; ability to manage several concurrent activities with tight timelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and advanced multitasking skills
  • Valid Ontario G class driver’s licence and willingness/ability to travel throughout Southwestern Ontario
  • Proficient user of Office365 software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to obtain federal, provincial, and/or local security clearances, such as a criminal background check
