About the role
- Intern investigating AI solutions for enhancing security posture of products and infrastructure. Hands-on experience in cloud security, threat detection, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Research, design and implement Proof of Concepts for AI platforms, tools and services that will directly streamline and improve the outcomes and results of the following security activities: Detection & Response.
- Determine how AI can be used to define and tune detection capabilities to identify malicious activity in our Cloud environments.
- Explore how AI help remediate risks before they occur and prevent vulnerability exploitation.
- Evaluate how AI can automate security processes, reducing manual chores and improving efficiency.
- Determine how AI can secure public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP) and hybrid infrastructures while ensuring compliance with standards.
- Evaluate how AI can be used to analyze complex log data in real time to detect never before seen attacks.
- Document all research, proof of concept implementations and generate a final recommendation report for each AI tool, service or platform investigated.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Foundational understanding of OS internals (Linux/Windows), network protocols (TCP/IP), and cloud security principles.
- Ability to read and write scripts in a modern language (Python preferred, PowerShell/Bash).
- Experience in "labs"—whether that's network simulators, personal projects, or cybersecurity "Capture the Flag" (CTF) platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).
