About the role

  • Senior Project Manager leading construction, contract administration, and commissioning for CAMH’s Phase 1D Forensic redevelopment. Supporting major mental-health hospital capital projects in Toronto.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute assigned project work streams
  • Manage and coordinate projects within the Redevelopment Office Portfolio
  • Identify, document, mitigate, and escalate project risks and issues
  • Facilitate project team meetings, including scheduling, agendas, minutes, and action-item follow-up
  • Attend external stakeholder meetings and manage meeting-minute follow-up
  • Manage on-site contractors, design teams, and consultants
  • Maintain project databases in Kahua, MS SharePoint, and other platforms
  • Assist the Project Director and Senior Project Director with project success activities
  • Lead construction and support commissioning activities
  • Conduct site reviews and inspections and prepare project reports, issue logs, and deficiency reviews
  • Review construction progress against schedules and contractual documents
  • Oversee construction safety with the CAMH health and safety consultant
  • Provide technical oversight of mechanical, electrical, IT, structural, and acoustics areas
  • Develop work plans for assigned project work streams
  • Lead contract administration, including tracking RFIs and hospital submittals in Kahua
  • Coordinate and issue site instructions
  • Coordinate and assist with change management
  • Review, develop, and deliver reports, communications, and presentations
  • Review construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Participate in developing and reviewing purchase orders, RFQs, RFPs, and Project Agreements for P3 projects
  • Assist with Ministry of Health capital planning submissions

Requirements

  • University degree preferably in Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience, ideally in a hospital setting, successfully leading large capital projects over $50M to on-time, on-schedule, and within-budget close
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience playing a key role in large-scale ($50M+), complex healthcare infrastructure projects, preferably related to P3 projects
  • Thorough knowledge of contract management in diverse environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated experience with document storage management via MS SharePoint
  • Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders
  • Analytical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex data
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and ability to formulate logical sequences of activities
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and communities
  • Direct, hands-on construction-stage project experience preferred
  • Technical and contractual knowledge of hospital capital-project planning, design, and construction preferred
  • Previous work experience with a general contractor preferred
  • Experience with Kahua considered an asset
  • Experience with MS Projects scheduling software considered an asset
