About the role

  • Vice-President leading the Canadian Medical Association’s information management, technology, AI, and cybersecurity. Shaping secure, scalable, data-enabled enterprise capabilities across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership, governance, and oversight for information management, technology, AI, and cybersecurity across the CMA
  • Align IM/IT investments, platforms, and practices with organizational strategy, enterprise architecture, risk requirements, and approved priorities
  • Develop an integrated enterprise information management and technology strategy, operating model, and roadmap
  • Establish decision rights, standards, and governance for technology, information management, cybersecurity, data architecture, and AI
  • Provide strategic counsel on opportunities, investments, dependencies, and risks
  • Ensure clear reporting on performance and value realization
  • Lead enterprise information management, including data governance, architecture, information platforms, analytics capabilities, and responsible AI governance, adoption, and enablement
  • Direct technology operations and service delivery across cybersecurity, cloud and network infrastructure, identity and access management, enterprise applications, collaboration platforms, integrations, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Oversee operating budgets, technology lifecycle planning, vendors, and contracts
  • Hold delivery partners accountable for service, project, and risk outcomes
  • Lead transformation and modernization of the IM/IT operating model
  • Enhance operational planning, portfolio management, and delivery disciplines
  • Strengthen capabilities and capacity to meet evolving enterprise needs
  • Ensure priorities and trade-offs are transparent, demand is aligned with organizational capacity, and investments deliver measurable value
  • Balance reliable day-to-day operations with longer-term modernization
  • Build internal capabilities and cross-enterprise partnerships
  • Reinforce disciplined execution, project governance, and benefits realization
  • Establish trust and stability, communicate frequently and authentically, and motivate employees
  • Set clear direction, recognize contributions, develop leaders and capability, and foster confidence, cohesion, and accountability

Requirements

  • Seasoned IM/IT executive with significant senior leadership experience and enterprise-wide accountability in a complex, dynamic organization
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing IM/IT strategies
  • Experience overseeing cybersecurity for a multi-faceted organization
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through transformation and uncertainty
  • Track record of rebuilding trust, strengthening engagement, and creating clarity, confidence, and momentum
  • Strong business acumen and an enterprise perspective
  • Sufficient technical breadth to provide credible enterprise leadership
  • Ability to make complex information clear, influence senior audiences, build alignment, and move from strategy to measurable results
